Surroundings

Griante belongs to the “Coast of the Azelias”, caracterized by a mild climate and by a lush vegetation, thanks to the vicinity of the lake.
Small village of about 900 inhabitants is situated on the hill, and therefore away from the traffic but in the same time allows to reach the lakeshore rapidly, from wich it is about 500 mt.

Along the lake promenade in the hamlet of Cadenabbia you can find: the bus stop, the landing-stage for ferry-boats and boats, the pubblic beach with its kiosk and the swimming-pool with a snak-bar.

To the mountainside you can find easy itineraries such as the natural park of S. Martino, 40 minutes on foot, from where you can have a beautiful view, or the small village of Rogaro that links throw baypasses the village of Griante with Tremezzo, Mezzegra and Lenno.

In Cadenabbia you can find the famous Villa Carlotta, at Lenno (about 7 Km.) the Villa Balbianello; Bellagio, that divides in two branches the lake, with its two Villas: Melzi and Serbelloni is reacheable with the ferry-boat in 10 minutes. At Varenna, 20 minutes with the boat, the gardens of Villa Monastero and Cipressi and the medioevale castle of Vezio in a dominant position.
